Ophtalmic Equipement: A Brief Overview

Refraction is the optical process by which light is bent as it passes through different mediums. In the context of the human eye, refraction is essential for forming clear images on the retina. The eye’s various components, including the cornea, lens, and aqueous and vitreous humors, work together to bend light and focus it onto the retina.

When the eye’s refractive power is not perfectly aligned, visual disturbances such as nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism can occur. These conditions are caused by the eye’s inability to focus light accurately on the retina.

Optometry is the primary healthcare profession dedicated to the care of the eyes and related visual systems. Optometrists are trained to perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose eye conditions, and prescribe corrective lenses or other visual aids. A crucial part of an optometric examination is the refraction test, which measures the eye’s refractive error and determines the appropriate prescription for glasses or contact lenses.

During a refraction test, the optometrist uses a phoropter to present a series of lenses to the patient. The patient indicates which lens provides the clearest vision, and the optometrist adjusts the lenses accordingly. Once the optimal prescription is determined, the optometrist can prescribe corrective lenses to improve the patient’s visual acuity and overall quality of life.

In addition to refraction & optometry, optometrists also play a vital role in detecting and managing eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. They may refer patients to other eye care professionals, such as ophthalmologists, for further evaluation or treatment if necessary.

I wanted to know if all the calibration tools as well as accessories were available for each piece of equipment

This list is purely informative and in no way reflects reality. Please check the presence of the accessories in the photos below. No claim will be accepted. For more information you can consult the website

Do the photos correspond to the reference above or are they generic?

The photographs illustrating the products are contractual pictures. Photos are taken for each machine: each picture and each video are REAL ones.

Are your machines perfectly functional? And calibrated ready to cut?

The best machines and only “one first owner” models before, are choosen for being renovated process. Then, they are fully refurbished by our qualified technicians, and calibrated here in Montluçon, middle France. The products sold by SARL Digital Screen System are Second Hand market, so we encourage our customers to make an educated decision, take responsibility, and to remember that it’s still pre-owned ones, aesthetically and mechanically.
